In Delaware, The Center for the Creative Arts, is using using Art Therapy to help Autistic kids.
“Students enrolled in this program have a wide range of special needs,” says Carla Pastore, Executive Director of CCArts. “Some are on the autism spectrum, while others have physical, social, or cognitive challenges. Our goal is to give these children positive, creative experiences in a safe, nurturing environment.” The Center offers a comfortable lounge where parents and siblings of students may gather for friendly conversation, or family members may choose to remain in the studio to observe.
When music heals the body, the mind follows in the soothing and if Autistic children can find cool comfort in beats and melody, then the entire world is better for the effort.
